Bonita Valley ByLaw Rule (Article VIII, Section 1)

All girls must have played in at least 75% of League games to be eligible for all-stars.
Players participating in Travel Ball (as defined by ASA in the current year yellow book) as of February 1st shall not be considered for All-stars.

Below is additional details regarding registration beginning on November 1st.

2011 NEW LEAGUE RULES

ALL PLAYERS MUST PLAY IN THEIR APPROPIATE AGE DIVISION: Players will no longer be able to move up a division. NO EXCEPTIONS

ALL PITCHERS AND CATCHERS MUST BE EVALUATED IN JANUARY - Any player wanting to be considered to pitch or catch must be assessed (all divisions except T-Ball and Rookies).

ALL PLAYERS MOVING UP FROM ROOKIES MUST BE EVALUATED IN JANUARY

ALL NEW PLAYERS MUST BE EVALUATED IN JANUARY EXCEPT T-BALL AND ROOKIES

PLAYERS WHO DO NOT ATTEND A SKILLS ASSESSMENT WILL NOT BE PLACED ON A TEAM

ADDITION: For the Rookie Division parents or players may not request to be placed on a team of a specific Manager or Coach any longer.(teams will be formed with a manager and assistant coach daughters as property players only, additional players will be added by the league lower division player agent and rookie coordinator). No exceptions.

Division Age Groups:

T-Ball – Ages 4 – 6 years

Rookies – Ages 7 – 8 years

Mini-Minors – Ages 9 & 10 years

Minors – Ages 11 years and up***

***Majors – Ages 13+ (providing there are 72 players registered to form 6 teams, if not then players 13+ will be placed in the minor division)

Drop off dates and league fees are as follows:

Early Bird Registration = registered on-line and ALL paperwork turned in by December 15th

November – Wednesday 17th 6:30 – 8:30 – location Bonita Vista High School

December – Wednesday 15th 6:30 – 8:30 - location Bonita Vista High School

Registration after December 15th

Registration after December 15th = registered on-line and/or paperwork turned in after December 15th deadline

If you register on-line and fail to turn in paperwork by Dec. 15th the player will not be added to a team until late fees are collected and paperwork turned in. NO EXCEPTIONS

The 10's lose their final game versus Simi Valley 5 to 7. Great job ladies and coaches in representing Bonita Valley!

The 10's beat Henderson Bandits this morning 4 to 3 after a game postponent and being down in the fourth 2 to 1 yesterday in the evening due to Lightning.

The 10's continue playing as they beat North Shore 5 to 4. They beat their next opponent 6-1 and are still playing the 8:00 p.m. game. If they win, they play tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m.

The 12U team lost to Cypress to finish 4^th! Great job to the whole team for fighting to the end.

The 10's beat Goleta this morning 12 to 0 and contine on playing against North Shore at 4pm today.

The winning continues with the 12's beating Charter Oaks 9 to 4! They take on Cypress next.

Yesterday the 12's lose one to Claremont in ITB 4 to 5 but come back and beat New Mexico Sol in a tight 1 to 0 game!

This morning they move on to play versus Goleta and win 4 to 0! They play Charter Oaks next.

The 10's lose versus La Miranda yesterday and are currently playing against Goleta to continue on.

Bonita Valley is on a roll with the 10's winning their first game in Arizona against San Mateo Slammers 3 to 1!

The 12's play their first game and get things started off on the right foot in over 100 degree weather! They defeat New Mexico this morning 9 to 0!

Our 10U and 12U teams are ready! The 10's play versus the San Mateo Slammers @ 1:00 p.m. and the 12's play @ 10:00 a.m. versus New Mexico . Both these games are pool-play!

Congratulations to those elected to the 2011 Bonita Valley Board! The term of the new board begins on September 1st 2010 and extends to August 31 2011.

After a difficult States tournament Team Manager Jeff Landers receives a call from the National tournament organizers inviting the 12U Gold team to play! The team has accepted the challenge and they are on their way to Nationals!

We are proud of of our 10U and 12U performance in Lancaster this weekend (a nationals qualifier). The 12U Gold team finished 13^th after a tough defeat to Sierra Madre late last night.

The 10U Gold team got knocked down into the loser's bracket early but managed to fight back to get a 3^rd place finish and earned a spot to the 2010 Western Nationals!

Again, congratulations to both teams on an excellent showing and making BV proud!!!

We'd like to thank ASA, our guests: Alpine, Clairemont, East County, Imperial Beach, Lakeside, Navajo, Peninsula, Santee and Scripps Ranch, BV volunteer families and community for another great District tournament. We hope you enjoyed the visit. Congrats are in order for the high-lighted teams below as they will represent our district at State to be held in scorching Lancaster. Great Job, Girls!

We will be hosting our 2nd annual team basket raffle once again this year at Opening Day Ceremonies. These gift baskets are put together by our own BV teams. Well now you can be notified by signing up for text notifications. Simply enter your information, and wait for a confirmation text. Enter the code that you received on your phone on to the form and you're set! Please note that some text messages may take a little longer than others to arrive to your device so please submit once. You assume all text message charges involved with signing up.

Registration for the 2010 recreation season is closed. We had another successful registration and over 700 girls signed up and players should be getting a call from their manager no later than Feb 1^st. Opening ceremonies are on Feb 13^th 9:00 a.m. at Discovery Park. We do ask that teams arrive by 8:30 a.m. as parking is very congested. DO NOT park in the bike lanes as you may receive a parking citation from the Chula Vista Police Department.

Due to the success from last years Basket Raffles on Opening Day, we have decided to do it again! For those team moms that like to plan ahead, begin thinking about basket theme's and plan on discussing it with your teams as part of your introduction meeting.
