Field Improvement Saturday 1/27/18
Please come out and help us on Saturday, January 27 from 7:30am to 1:30pm for our field improvement day at Discovery Park (700 Buena Vista Way, Chula Vista, CA 91910).

We need as many volunteers as possible to come out and help. High School Students looking for community service hours are also welcomed. Let's get a strong representation from our Bonita Valley Softball families to show how much we care about our fields!

Opening Day Ceremony
Remember that the season begins on February 1st, so there are to be no practices until then.

Also, the opening ceremony is Saturday February 17th starting at 9AM. The ceremony will be held at Discovery Park in front of the Snack Bar. All 700+ players and family members are expected to participate, so remember to arrive early or you will definitely be late!

The parking lot and street parking will be fill up early, so plan to come as early as possible to find parking. Important note: For this date (1/17/18) only, Victory Church and Christian Academy (810 Buena Vista Way Chula Vista CA 91910) will let us use their parking lot.

This same day, February 17 is when the first games of the season are played. Once the opening ceremony completes, there will be games played all day.

Managers and Coaches
Remember that at least the manager and coach of the team will need to complete and print out the Concussion Certification coarse online at https://headsup.cdc.gov/. Once completed make sure to email to Robert_S@bvgasa.org, or Kristie_H@bvgasa.org, or drop it off at the Snack Bar before February 1st.

Coaches Clinic
On Sunday January 28th there will be a coaching clinic held by USA Softball of Southern California. It will be at Rob Field #5 (2525 Bacon St San Diego, CA 92107) from 9AM to 12PM. The Cost will be $25 and is developed and designed to provide softball coaches of all levels from beginning coaches to experienced veterans, an opportunity to further their knowledge of the sport of Softball.

Click on this flyer for more information.

Volunteers
BVGASA is a non-profit organization that survives on the volunteer time and dedication of its members, specifically the parents and businesses of the community. Again this year we will need volunteers for Team Managers, Coaches, Team Mom's, Parent Helpers, etc. (anyone who interacts with the players). If you have the desire to be a part of this season's effort in one of these capacities, you will need a new USA Softball background check completed as this is an USA Softball annual requirement. If you get it started now you will be cleared prior to the beginning of the season.

Just click on the "Log In" link on the upper right hand corner of this page then click on the "Register to Volunteer" link to get the process started.

Once you complete the on-line volunteer registration, bring a copy of this completed volunteer form and a $10 processing fee (if you did not pay on-line) to BV volunteer coordinator Jackie. When the process is completed, it will allow you to help with on-field activities like games and practices. Without this, adults are not allowed on any of the fields during league activity times. This is a USA Softball annual requirement so once you get this done, you can use it without renewing throughout the year, no matter what league you are involved with.

Team Moms
Visit the team moms page to get more information about our 2018 Team Basket Raffle that we'll have at the Opening Ceremony.

Thursday, January 10th, 2018 8:30pm: Prospective Managers

We will be selecting managers on 1/20/18. Please make sure to fill out your volunteer forms online and select manager ASAP to make sure you are considered for a team.
